The 17th International Conference on Clouds & Precipitation, organised by the International Commission on Clouds and Precipitation (ICCP), will be held in the city of Manchester, UK, during the week 25 – 29 July 2016.
The Centre for Atmospheric Science (CAS) in the School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental Science (SEAES) at the University of Manchester is delighted to be hosting, this, the XVII Conference in the long running series. The meeting will be held in the Renold building which forms part of the conference facilities on the north campus of the University, in the heart of the city.
The ICCP conferences are organised every 4 years by the International Commission on Clouds and Precipitation, which is a commission of the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS), an association of IUGG (International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics).
The goal of the conference is to provide a venue for the presentation of scientific research in the area of clouds and precipitation and to encourage the exchange of ideas within the international community. The conference will host a special session in memory of Sir John Mason, former Director General at the Met Office, and former president of UMIST (one of the previous universities in Manchester that merged to form the current University of Manchester).
